Filipa Cunha is a kindergarten teacher, and she studied early childhood education at the Escola Superior de Educação João de Deus. In 2007, she began working in the Associação de Jardins Escola João de Deus.

In 2010, she moved to a street context, where she worked in Ludoteca João de Deus, a project in deprived neighborhoods, in a mobile caravan that went to a different neighbourhood every day. Here she led various workshops, gave skating lessons and served meals to children from 2 to 15 years.
