Elyssa Winzeler is an educator and university counsellor from the United States. She studied Biopsychology with a concentration in Neuroscience, as well as Anthropology, and was fortunate to have a liberal arts education that offered her diverse research and internship opportunities. These included archaeological work in Albania, and even practising brain surgery (not on a living human). She later earned a Master’s degree in Linguistics while working for the LINGUIST List.
In 2012, Elyssa Winzeler was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to teach at the University of Warsaw. Over the following 13 years, she taught at various universities and international schools while also providing consulting and editing services. In addition to teaching, she has served as Humanities Faculty Head, Modern Foreign Languages Faculty Head, Vice-Principal, and Academic Advisor. One of her proudest achievements was establishing the academic advising programme at her previous school.
