The Bufori Race Car Project has officially arrived at our school, marking the beginning of an exciting and ambitious learning journey for our students. More than a display or a one-off initiative, this prestigious programme represents a year-long engineering and business challenge that brings real-world learning into the classroom.
With valuable insights shared by Paul Shelley from International Sharing School – Taguspark, students were introduced to the scope and expectations of the project, gaining a clear understanding of the level of commitment, collaboration, and innovation required. Over the coming months, students will work together to design, build, and prepare a Bufori race car from the ground up, combining technical expertise with strategic thinking.
We are proud to be one of only three schools in Portugal selected to take part in this programme. Participation in the Bufori Race Car Project offers students a unique opportunity to engage with authentic challenges across multiple disciplines, including engineering, design, teamwork, project management, and business strategy. Throughout the process, students will develop problem-solving skills, resilience, and a strong sense of responsibility as they navigate each stage of the build.
The project also encourages collaboration, communication, and leadership, reflecting the kind of learning experiences that prepare students for future academic and professional pathways. By working on a complex, long-term project, students are able to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical context while gaining insight into how industries operate beyond the school environment.
The journey now begins toward the final race, where our students will compete against Bright International School and the third participating school, showcasing not only the performance of their car, but also the dedication, learning, and teamwork developed throughout the year.
We look forward to following this exciting journey and sharing milestones along the way as our students take on this remarkable challenge.
