An evolutionary biologist and biochemist by education and training with several peer-reviewed research papers on the topics of snake venom proteomics, haemostasis, and bioactivity.

He has been at ISS since 2020, having had the roles of Laboratory Manager & IB level Biology teacher before.

Fun Facts

Even though Francisco’s afraid to sky-dive, he has handled Black Mambas and other highly venomous snakes. He identifies with the quote “I’d rather be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener in a war”. He’s an endless pit of random facts on anything reptilian or snake venom related.
